Well, i got the boat weighed, l weighed it about 5 times, the straps were 5 lbs, the lowest recorded weight was 408, and highest 425, the rest were between 410-415.
Its a little heavier than i was hoping but im going to try again a different way with the same scale and see what it says. The hook on top is supposed to go on the bottom but the straps come off, so i put it on the top, and the top on the bottom, not sure if it has anything to do with it but for a digital scale i thought it would have been more consistent.

Well today was a good day the boat got wet and I'm happy how the boat floats, I was a little dissapointed when I weighed it because it was a little heavier than I hoped but it is over built and is a tank, thing willl take a beating. I am very please the way it floats and I thought with the extra weight it wouldn't float my heavier 4 stroke but even with a 235 lb person and an 80 lb vise in the back it floats way better than I anticipated, I'd assume from adding extra weight up front with the cored cap and extra glass it levels it out. With over 480lbs in the back with the battery up front water is still about 5" below the rub rail.

Kinda surprised but not really. It floats really high not loaded. And it's far from swamping with 2 of us and the vise right at the motor well. It's gonna float great when it's done.

Without kicking the hornets nest too bad, will you be able to take the beating your boat will give you, I'm about 6*^%5 and can't take the pounding as much as I used to, don't do the Kings Island loops like I used too, just sayin???

Not sure but at least I won't have to worry about the boat falling apart. I don't plan on running real hard but I will be in the ocean in the keys 2-3' chop. The boat should do well with it's 20° deep vee

The V and the extra weight will pay off in a chop, But you'll be watching for rollers .... getting stuffed in big one is not fun. The boat will survive for sure, it's the unexpected water that comes across the bow that makes things interesting.

Yea i do know that all to well, i had a sweet 85 mph ski that be me up pretty bad in the ocean since its only 11ft long and wasn't a steep deadrise bottom. Boat should be a little more comfortable. got to watch for big boat wakes, i went submarine mode on one and i cant do that in the boat, it would swamp it!

On a hot day, it was always refreshing to stuff it once in awhile.
I could do it anytime I wanted to but also had the power behind me to pull it out without risk. Great times. Just too bad it was ahead of its time.

That was my idea, haha, a bullet with a 350 hp supercharged ski engine and pump would be awesome, I was almost about to do that but the bottom would have needed to be changed a little bit in front of the tunnel to take advantage of rough water performance, flat intakes cavitate alot in choppy water, after all the bullet was made for rough water. If i find another hull cheap enough i will gut it and do a jet conversion on it in the future. I know where my old gutted hull is but right now the guy wants 1000$ for it and its a little more than I want to pay at the moment.

This is what I was going to do, it is badass and would be faster than an outboard top speed and holeshot. it's my next project if i can find another cheap hull.

awesome build thread too. the end has some cool flybys.

Actually, back in the 90’s I often thought of using a Merc 2.4 EFI Offshore powerhead mated to a jet pump. Then make it a rudder steering boat.

On the Checkmate website there is a guy who took an MX-13 Checkmate and dropped a 350 Chevy stroked to 383 into it with a Berkley pump, over the transom headers, there's a couple of videos of it running and then he seemed to disappear. Youtube MX13 jet and it comes up, and an MX-13 with a 225 Merc on the back.

Seat base glassed. Coosa plugs are so the nuts and bolts don't crush the foam. No t-nuts in these plugs. Nuts and bolts to the aluminum seat mounts. Coosa plugs with t-nuts bolting it to the floor.
