Well if that's going to be the only reason and I'll definitely buy one I'm not really worried about a fuel leak because my boat will be open and the gas tank will be able to breathe no problem but not only that I will be able to see the fuel line since it will run along the floor up splashwell and to engine.

Everything is looking good for sure. Do you need to use that shifter? A smaller in-control would sure compliment all of the other stuff you are taking the time to finish so nicely. I am looking forward to seeing you out on some runs with us-

That cap is so stiff. I went over to check it out. Im 220+ and it didn't flex at all. I mean none. And I stood right in the middle of the front deck and bounced a little. No flex at all.

I don't think I HAVE to use the shifter, but I do like it, I was originally going to buy the lightweight one but I needed the special harness for my engine and the cable that came with the shifter was only 30$ more, it came with an engine alarm, kill switch, key switch etc so I thought it was a good deal. I will be ordering a foot throttle soon, fuel cell battery tie down thingy ma jig. I will defiantly join in on some runs when she is done! As Gorilla said, the cap came out awesome, the jig held it to its perfect shape and plops right back on without bowing out and flexing. he stood on it and didn't budge and the edges are not even tabbed in yet so that question about it possibly cracking along the rub rail edge id say it will be just fine especial once glued and glassed together.

Thanks, Well the original boat was around 325, probably 40-50 of that was the liner that I'm.not putting back in, I also used coosa for transom Which is lighter than plywood that the original boat had, and everything else was H80 or 60 and is really light weight. I'm hoping it's around 325-350 not sure yet but I will be ordering a scale to get a bare hull weight. I'll be taking it out in the ocean, to the Keys and places like islamorada light house and possibly to Bimini Bahamas. I'm def over building it but it's probably going to take a beating running the ocean so better safe than sorry, I just hope it's not TOO heavy. After all it does have to float the heavy 4 stroke at 247lbs.

She's coming along Nicely !!! I love little boats!!!
Maybe think of using one of these little side shifters? I had to make a block to hold the cable, but it works perfectly. FYI - I'm a better welder than I am machinist haha. This was made out of aluminum. I should have just bought the piece that the cable sits in.

I was headed down that route.. however, once I priced everything it was way more expensive to buy everything separate ( shifter, kill switch, key switch, alarm, and the harness for the engine) rather than buying the harness and control box with everything in it already and not having to make everything else work. I actually like the control box its high quality, the only downside is its a little heavy. I'm probably going to keep it. rather not spend the extra 90$ for a billet shifter. I still need to order: Hotfoot, throttle cable, shift cable, engine rigging hose and fittings, hydro steering bulkhead fittings, fuel cell or tank. Where is the best site to order rigging hose and fittings? also, my engine had a weird spot where the cables come in where it's not round more oval and no flange, how could the hose attach to my engine? do I have to fabricate something or is there an adapter people use?

Not all outboards are specifically designed to accommodate rigging tubes directly to them. Such as my Force on my red boat. Throttle & Shift cables & fuel are on starboard side, where wiring harness, trim cables, battery cables go in the port. For your specific engine, you'll have to do research to find an adapter.
However, Amazon has good pricing.
On Amazon, you can find T-H marine sells a 2" rigging tube, with the flange for the boat end. It simple spins in and out to adjust length.
T-H marine also has a zipped up bag style rigging tube.
