Notice that there is not one hole through the floor, when I pulled the plugs from the floor, I started with a drill bit in the hole saw shallow and after it was started pulled the bit out and finished with just the hole saw, not only is it a cleaner install, and looks more professional but it will keep my foam under the floor dry I don't see it getting wet unless somehow a hole gets poked in in. Thanks to Gorilla for the pro tip, hopefully someone else can use it on their project.

Will there be another sheet of glass over the seating area, covering those plugs?

Yes, there will be at least 1 maybe 2 1708 and CSM over the plugs. Prob a strip covering all 3 of them wider than the aluminum base. So the base will sit on a nice flat pad of glass.

Figured id post a few boats that have the same engines as mine to get an idea of how fast it will be, these boats are 16' and weigh around 1200lbs i should be around 900. My boat also has a flat pad and these have a concave pad. its a popular engine in the Uk, they run them on a few differnt hull styles.

Got a few small things done this past week. Got shifter mount glassed and glued in, got the foot throttle mount glued in and the foot board glassed, just have to glass the throttle mount and tab in the shifter mount, the footboard will be tabbed in later after the bottom is done as I need to flip the boat again to finish the bottom and the saw horses sit on the floor.

So Keith and I got a few things done on the boat yesterday, finished the bottom of splashwell, tabbed in shifter mount, glassed in foot throttle mounting pad. Basically all the glass work is done minus tabbing top to bottom and splashwell to transom. Just have to glue and glass the foot board also, next is lots of sanding and filling and sanding inside for gelcoat prep. Oh and my new stainless wheel finally came in!

Nice wiring job. Wheel looks nice. Better than the plastic one.

Got a last minute cosmetic thing done today, I like the clean look, so I added some angled core to the cap for the rigging tube flange and hydro steering bulkhead fittings for a much nicer cleaner look, it also channels all wires and cables into the channel for the wires up under the cap without any sharp angles. Just have to grind some gelcoat off the top and glass over them and through the hole and up under the cap for strength
