Checkmate Pulse 185

Anyone have experience with prop selection for a Checkmate Pulse 185 with a Mariner/Mercury 175???? I owned a Checkmate back in the 80's and always missed it so when the need came up for a Lake boat to have fun with I searched out one. It's a 1991 in mint condition, with a Mariner 175. Where I purchased it in November I have not driven it as of yet but just by the current setup, I can tell it's going to need a new prop.Here's what I know, has a CMC 6" Hydraulic transom with an additional setback spacer of about 1". I have documents that came with it that the engine has port work, blueprinted heads, and Boyesen Reeds all by the original owner. It currently has a 5 blade 21 pitch prop that the second owner used for skiing and tubing with his kids and said mid 50's was fast enough for him. I'm just guessing here but I'd like to think mid 60's with the right prop is probably achievable?

23 tempest plus or trophy plus....should do mid 60s. My buddy has one with a 250xs and it'll go 80 on the limiter with a 27 tempest plus.
