I've been busy. A (WAAAAYYY better than mine) house popped up on Zillow about a month ago...I couldn't pass it up so I made an offer on the first day it was listed, got the offer accepted, so I've been dealing with incompetent realtors for a month...we closed last week. Working on the boat when I have time, working on my house when I have time. Sellers are moving out in 2 weeks so the rest of the summer should be a proper **** show....gotta get in there and re-do the floors and some other things, then once my house is empty...put it on the market and sell it after making some upgrades/repairs.
The glass work is all done and I'm mostly impressed with it...at least for my first time taking on a project of this scope. I made a new bracket, which was WAY too high, then remade the side plates and I think we're good. I would really like to make new tunnel tabs and get everything striped and powdercoated, but I think at this point I'll just rattle can it, bolt it together, and deal with making it pretty next winter. I'll post some current pictures this weekend.
Here's one picture I found...gotta transfer the rest from my phone
port side knee to transom joint

Glass work looks very neat. Good luck on the houses....Dang priorities have a way of screwing up our boating plans....

Thanks...Some light sanding and a brush coat really made it look finished. It is certainly stout. I got the bracket done and the motor hung last night. I need to put the plates on and fill a couple holes in the tops of the tunnels, then figure out something to mount the front seats better than wood screws catching 1/2" of a piece of plywood glassed down on tops of the tunnels, and then we're pretty much ready...I think.
New house is cool...has a HUUGE yard. I can fit at least 7 boats back there. The wife and I have different ideas as to how best to utilize the space.

Glass down a 1/4'' piece (or pieces) of alum plate on top of the wood and drill and tap for some 1/4'' mach. screws for the seats. That's how I do mine.

That's the plan, depending on the condition of the wood.

Update...got it wet this weekend. I've been working on it for the last few months trying to get it together...mostly sitting there staring at it wondering how best to do certain things and then trying to find where all the parts I needed ended up after the move. Everything threw problems at me. Electrical all got torn out because it was just a mess. Got the engine fired and no pisser/no water pressure, but engine was staying cool (thermal imaging cam), trim ram starting dumping oil, etc...
Anyway, we got it.
I notice that the engine seems louder on this boat...it sounds much more "mechanical", if that's a way to describe it....as well as the usual induction/exhaust noise. Could this be because the transom is so rigid compared to the old ****box that it's transferring all the harmonics much better into the rest of the hull? Engine has solid mounts.

Mission accomplish.
I think the sounds/noises are normal, you've just been out of the game for awhile.
Were you able to lean on it and how did your new hull feel.

It’s definitely a more rigid hull...handles chop better and turns like a slot car, but the bahner seemed both quicker and faster. I’ve still got some learning to do with it.
