We were a dealer in the late 70’s early 80’s, I beat Nelson Tyler the inventor of the wetbike at the Havasu nationals back in 1986, my brother has a red Tomcat he won at the nationals in Islamarada in the keys that he has never cranked, they are fun to ride but takes a little balance to load n deep water, good luck with the sale. A Wetbike was my 1st water toy which led me into boating! I had one somewhere around 1986/1987 and used to run all over Biscayne Bay and Rickenbacker Causeway with it. It was a blast to ride. The only real drawback was lack of draft. If you came off plane it sinks about 2' down in the water. I did learn to do shallow water takeoffs by leaning the thing on it side and nailing the throttle!

It was my first watercraft as well. I must have had one of the first ones, I purchased new in 1978 after seeing an ad in playboy. I ended up fully lighting it with red/green bow light and a white stern light that I put on a removable fiberglass whip, and a 200,000 power marine headlight. The coast guard complimented me on the lighting one evening while riding at Parker but shooed me off the water telling me that the fixed headlight wasn't legal. Lol. Not the smartest thing to be doing, but we were young. Also had found an expansion chamber that was made for it which got the speed into the low 40's. It was a lot of fun back in the day. Look how far pwcs have come, I'm now riding an 18 Waverunner GP1800 with Riva stg2 kit that currently gps's at 83 mph and does 0-60 in under 4 seconds! It's a rush!
