I tried a 23" Scorpion. It was very stiff. It turned like a 25". The L4 Pro is much easier to turn.

How did the two compare speed wise? Also does the l4 carry the bow like the scorpion?

The 23" scorpion was about ran about 74.5 mph @ 5950 and the L4 pro was about 73.8 mph @ at 6100. These were one pass tests last fall. Results may be different if I had spent more time with the trim and jackplate. I liked the L4 better than the Scorpion. It provided better hole shot and mid range punch with better overall lift. The Scorpion did have better bow lift but the L4 seemed to lift the entire boat.

I liked the L4 but I've decided to go with a mod'd 24" Bravo for water sports, a 24" Eagle 4 for fishing, and 26" ET Pro for speed and cool weather. The Bravo is slower than the L4 but I've got a bunch of money in it so I'm keeping it. My setup is a 21' Checkmate openbow, 1.62 Sportmaster, I always carry 2-4 people and gear. I'm also at high altitude so my speeds are really cut down.

Whats pushin the checkmate? i bet if u tried a 1.87 l/u you would love it. my 1st set- up ran a 2.1 l/u i felt like 50 more H.P.! MY 24 SCORP runs about 74 @ 58-6000 w/ 1.87. with the 2.1 lower could jump boat clean out of water after planoff, super torque with only 2.0. the 2,1 really shines up to about 75 MPH . CAN carry heavy boat with ease with a 3 blade! might try my 2.1 lower on my 2.4 but would need a 27-28 prop. im bidding 0n a 4 BLD chopper not mfg any more. might try 24 trophy tomorrow A.M...... art

DID a little research on the PRO L4 i bet it would run great on my rig. to o bad your so far away. i only paid 350 for my scorp from the dealer brand new. trade ......? or sale only....Tried the trophyv24 not my cup of tea but the little sucker killed it on top end. as fast as my modded chopper, scorpion, big ear 26. hole shot bad , cruise porpoise @ 50 and cavation on turns have hyd steer so no torque with 3 or 4 blade minimal notice. wont be using trophy a good name for it LOL......ART. .
