    Another NHRA 4 wide track..not a fan..

So Vegas is 4 wide now too. Not a fan watching the tube. On now me, hour to go. Too much to soak in 4 seconds. Turning into a stadium crowd event for the noise, and a "side show" to me. Only thing the race I like is the Nitro Harleys 2 wides, and Jay "Bulldog" Turner and Doug Vancil .Know both a long time, and got advice them when building my dragbike. Nitro Harleys RULE!

Didn’t realize this was happening! I don’t watch drag racing anymore but this just seals the deal. I have zero interest in this spectacle!

    I didn't either! When said Vegas and 4 wide? WTF..that Zmax..nope...

And the AHDRA (all harley drag racing) "used" to race Seattle old SIR, now Pacific raceway, corporate and total mess new owners. No more them as go south Oregon at Woodburn. Even heard maybe NHRA will say "FTN" and go elsewhere PNW. Build it, they will come. Nothing wrong with drag racing, BUT? Promoters and freaking rules ruin the sport. At one time .."run what ya brung"! RULED!

4 wide is CRAP... didn't realize Vegas was going to be that way now either, changed the channel the instant I saw that it was. Very glad I recorded the MotoGP race, watched that instead.

Yea I can`t stand that 4 wide crap either. The drivers voted unanimously against it but they did it anyway. The fans get screwed because they now see only half the passes as before and NHRA didn`t lower the gate price. I have my DVR set to record NHRA but simply hit delete on the 4 wide thing. Just can`t get into it. To much going on at one time to enjoy the race.

Yeah, NHRA just keeps working on ways to drive me away from drag racing. Started a LONG time ago when I was a kid; they outlawed the Altereds for safety reasons, then a progressive downhill slide of more and more rules and regs (always for safety reasons). Now it's less about racing than it is about the "show", less about racing than it is NHRA's big business. I guess that's the way of the world these days, but its a shame that they've taken one of the most exciting forms of motorsport and turned it into a monster truck show.

Get rid of the four-wide crap, go back to the 1/4 mile, turn the crew chiefs loose, make pro stock look like real cars again, make funny cars look like...well anything again and get some nitro bikes in the show.

    And oh yeah...

    BRING BACK THE ALTEREDS!!!

Mugs (Feeling a bit like a fossil at this point)
    Cheers,

    Mugs
(Racing on the pavement these days...)

I agree. There is so much going on in such a short period of time it’s assenine to thing that spectators will even be able to follow what’s going on with 4 at a time! I’m as interested in the pre-stage, stage, and shutdown as I am in the race itself and it’s hard to see all that AND read the numbers on the board at the end of the run when there’s only two cars running. What a joke! Oh well, I guess if people were buying tickets then they wouldn’t be changing anything...

That article also says they are planning to add a “chicane” to the track...

If you read the first letter of every paragraph down the page it reads:
