Sorry for your loss, Clay I believe you and my brother Mark Osborn were friends and I think you got him Into dirt bikes back at the Lake Alfred races, as a kid I remember one of you had an xr75 and you all rode around the lake back then, Kevin and Kim Jernigan, Ron and Mark Titus etc... my dad remembers your dad and said he was a heck of a good driver, and very nice man. Matt, Thank You ! I do remember riding dirt bikes around Lake Alfred. I had a Yamaha, so maybe Mark had the xr75. I raced dirt bikes instead of boats... silly me. Kevin and I were friends all the time Jim and my dad competed. went to dinner at the Titus's house once, and always remember what Nice people Jeff & Sally were. So your dad, Mike ? I remember him as one heck of driver as well ! He owned Osborn Marine, Winter haven. Were the Osborn's also involved in water ski racing, Mark maybe ? I did some of that before dad raced boats, our first race was in Winter haven. Also Frank Mathis raced with dad and his son Frankie raced me in the ski races.
You brought back more great memories Matt, Thanks so much for posting !!!

We had the marina and ended up with a Honda dealership for 35 years once we got out of boat racing, I still love bikes and boats, we did some ski racing not much, Ron Titus is on the boards every once in a while screen name Ronster i believe, some of the best memories of my life are being at boat races in the pits having fun, good times back then and great people. Again so sorry for your loss but the memories will live on forever.

This is Ron Titus. Sorry for your loss. I share all of the memories visited here. Lots to go around...was a great way to grow up. Kevin had the XR-75. Burned my leg on the pipe many times. He and I got shot at (probably rock salt) stealing a watermelon from a field in Guntersville, AL.

I send my deepest condolences and i apologize for not responding here sooner. Your father was a great racer/promoter/ambassador for the OPC racing that we loved, but beyond that he was a great person. The photo above of him taking a moment with a young fan (me) is but one example. The proverb about a village to raise kids certainly applied to all of us growing up. Our OPC "village" was filled with parents/racers, like your father, that have molded us into the men and women that we are today. Like Matt and Ron mentioned, i was fortunate to have grown up in that "village" and feel blessed to have known your father. R.I.P. Mr. Hunter

I don't even hardly know what to write, but I know we are all thinking about Dad today. I miss him SO much, he was and always will be my hero. It's hard to believe a year has gone by already, but we miss you and think about you everyday.

It's been a teary start to the day, but I will try to do what he said, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
