Not to mention only 10 horsepower gain. Too much money for me just for that.

HP gains are more in the 25-30hp range....

I'd do it again if I had to make the decision all over again.

On a engine dyno 25hp not at prop shaft where it counts. That's why I said 10hp

Either way its a 25hp gain, net net.

Not sure why there are such negative commentary from a few here. Did you have negative performance experience with this kit?

My experience has been perfect and with very noticeable performance gains.

It’s the experience as a customer that sucks. Interaction, sales process, lead times, etc

propensity for bull**** is higher when payoff is higher, this isn’t the case

My own experience differs greatly. But I did go through Fallon Marine in havasu. They ordered the kit, sent the ECU for reprogramming, etc. The turnaround was quick, efficient, and absent any issue

There are a couple of different ecu programs they offer. Depending which program you have could make a difference. When I changed to 15" mid and added the DBR tuner and the latest program I have gained 6 mph so far since my stock 20" xs. I figure 4 mph with the 15"/ DBR and 2 mph with some prop work. I like the added mid range punch. Does it burn a little more gas - yes. Is the DBR kit worth a 1000.00 to gain a couple mph? Is buying a new stainless propeller worth a $1000.00 to try and gain a couple mph? Everyone has a different value of $$ to mph gains. Unless you try different options on a particular setup you will never know. After all doesn't BOAT stand for Break Out Another Thousand.

The gains my boat gained from just the DBR 1.1 kit were quite noticeable. Much better holeshot, more punch in mid-range acceleration, and so far 2MPH on the top end. Previous to the kit, the best top speed achieved was 92mph. With the kit, 94mph. That 94mph was somewhat hindered by glass water conditions so I think 95mph might be achievable.

well I sent in my ecu to him already and I’m doing the 1.1 kit so I’ll be sure to post what I think and if I see any gains at all

I installed a DBR kit on both the 250 Pro XS and my current 300XS. Both times I sent Joe ECU from Craigslist because I didn't want to alter stock one. For the 300 I sent him ECU from a older 225 "DTS" model opti. I had a glitch on one the first time can't remember if it was for 250 or 300. He took it right back and fixed it. It is true the top end gain is not significant albeit still about 2-3MPH. Where it really shines is how fast it gets there and how little you lose with heavier load. I use to lose 5-8 MPH on tourney day with coangler and extra weight, fuel, etc. Now I lose 4MPH tops! Dave Bush also claims he takes out "lean" spots in the mapping. Bottom line is I'm going on over 2 years between 250 and 300 and never had a problem, Fuel efficiency is great and a very clean burning prop to boot!
