    My econo tow pigg, 2.0

Was gettin the itch for a new truck but not ready to drop $50k on something I drive once a month.

    The answer?

Put a grand into my 20 yr old, 220k mile, 350 Vortec powered, paid for, runs perfect, truck.

A grand got it new wheels and new leather seat skins.

It doesn't shine in these pixs cuz I took them today and I'm in Ohio where we only see the sun on special occasions.

    Love it!

    One owner Fla truck.

Bought it while down there and almost sold it/left it there when it dawned on me, one owner, no rust, all documents Fla truck in Ohio
Painted it while still down there and cheap, and let the Mrs employer truck it to Ohio for me.

Up here they are all cancered out in lower panels behind doors.

Not as pretty as yours but......

Still driving my 95 Z71 I bought in 98. It's been the most unreliable vehicle I've ever owned but the way I look at it is I replaced all the bad stuff and now have a reliable vehicle. One of these days I'm installing a Vortec 350 I have ready to assemble. Also gonna have it repainted and some new bits and pieces of trim to give it a fresh lease on life.

    Funny you should ask

Got red covers for them but were too tight to get on. Called the mfg and they said to send them in and they'd install them by vacuum bagging them.
I used s shop vac and got the drivers side on but not sealed.
I think I like them in orig beige better.
    Too much red.

Gary looks great I’m with you I just can’t see paying that much for a new truck, this is my daily driver I have owned since new 15 years old 145000 miles and I only have had to fix a few things here and there, new steering wheel cover and seat cover plus it is amazing what new tires do for an old truck. Yep.

The new rims are spaced out 2 1/2" farther so gives a more aggressive stance and w/old tires rebalanced it drives smoothest ever.

As luck would have it....., we drove to Lake Erie to work on our cruiser and the thing started shaking like it threw a wheel weight but then the engine light came on
Got off at our exit and acts like it lost fire on a couple of holes?? Exhaust is way rich, validating that thought.

Scan tool said random misfire on numerous cylinders. Mechanic guessed roached distributor cap/rotor which I don't remember changing when I bought truck 4 yrs ago.
Changed everything else so can't imagine I didn't but don't remember it.

    It's a t the shop now, and I'm waiting on a call

Gary Vortec 5.7? caps seldom get replaced and very common issue. Those had platinum plugs and the plugs would outlast the caps, we used to recommend changing the cap 1/2 way in the plug interval change.

If anybody ever needs to replace a entire engine in the future, for whatever reason...I highly recommend any of the LS motors, such as the 5.3, etc. Much better gas mileage & performance over any of the old school chevy small blocks. Not to mention the potential for horsepower gains, with mods.
