Mercury 2.0L V6 Build Questions - Head Work and Sleeve Replacement
Guys, my LA Sleeve came in this week for the repair of hole #6 in my 1996 2.0L fatblock. The sleeve is "almost" identical -
The new sleeve is missing the little slot at the top of the exhaust port. How important is this slot and is it worth cutting it into the sleeve? This is their thickest sleeve at 1/8 - needed because my original was badly damaged when the rod bent.
Inputs appreciated! Gordon

Idle relief. I know it affects the cranking compression number. Will probably run ok without it but may cause strange tuning issues? That hole will probably have 5-7 lbs more compression on the gauge without it.
