1994 johnson 115 hp warped carb bowls.

1994 xflow 115/80 jet has leaking carb bowls - new gaskets, the bowls are slightly warped up in the center. looks like they are no longer available and ill need to find a used set. in the mean time, can i tape sandpaper to glass and sand them smooth to get me through until i locate a set? thanks guys.

yes just sand them flat, if it dont work just cast some of your own in either Aluminium or a grp composite.
so many people have had the same problem with these poorly made things.
somewhere on YouTube a fella gas made about 4 of them for people in alloy, no more problems once made of alloy.

Why? '94 should be type III (jet in carb throat). Regardless, I believe type II bowls will work for him. He'll just have an extra screw/plug above the drains?

Problem with the plastic bowls is if'n ya torque em to spec. They just don't feel tight enough. So everybody, myself included, over-torques em. And then they warp...
