Had the good fortune of meeting Art Carlsons son John at the MN meet last August. And John's son Steven. Crazy bastards towed their new Carlson-Matise all the way from California.

Wow. Nice job Doug. I hope you are happy with the power. Have a friend in Port Charlotte that ran big power on a GT160 and was glad to go back to an Etec 150.
OK, I got down off the porch and ran with the big dogs....kinda sore now....think I'll just lay here in the flowerbed for a while...

Thats exactly how my 1971 CV16 was built. We pulled the floor and balsa cored the hull to eliminate the flex. Took the porpoise out.

I would think the hull to floor to stringer tie in would be stiff enough to do that on its own.

It might be enough when the biggest power available was 85 hp....Which is prob close to what the boat is rated at. Intended speeds were sub 40 mph when hull was designed and built.

Actually these were rated for 125. However in their stock configuration I would not hang a 200 on one. Added big beefy knees and poured them same time as transom. And the floor's tabbed onto the knees and transom.
