got a nik bport and a chrome ovalport...I'm just wondering if these rods are the same. I know they are hardened differently, but are the dia.s different for the 2.5 or the same? Or is the thickness different?

They're top guided instead of bottom guided like a 2.4. Rods are .100" narrower (.050" per side) than a bottom guide rod. There's a set of washers some early 2.5's had that let you run these rods with bottom guided pistons.
