    Important oil system FYI!!

I have read several posts where people said " It cant be the VRO cause it was only one cylinder". That is simply not true. I just rebuit my motor that I blew up by being stupid. I filled the tank with gas and forgot to add the oil when I got home. So I ran it with absolutely no oil. Only cylinder #1 was damaged. The first ring to fail was the only one. I shut it down as soon as I noticed. So just because all cylinders arent damaged doesnt mean its not the oil system.

Yep, I’ve got a tank of un-oiled gas in my rig now. Been there since last year. I haven’t forgotten about it yet...

    Correct.

There is always one hole that goes first.

You should investigate the bearings in that engine, though.

and the easy simple way to make sure you dont do it again, is ALWAYS put the oil in FIRST.
do this every time as it also mixes better..
get into that routine and you will never have to wonder if oil is in the gas...
put a big decal on the tank that says OIL FIRST..

I'm in the habit of putting the oil in at home before heading out, when i'm working how much gas I want to put in. Gonna want 25L of gas? Give it 500ml oil. The imperial system also screws you guys by making it so much harder

It has always amazed me how little oil these motors need to run. Especially the oil injected motors that meter the oil to the rpm range. Had an oil injected Yamaha 225 in the mid 80's that worried me to death every time I came back from fishing to top off the oil reserve to see that the level had barely dropped.
