    Help Gettin More Speed

    Hello,

This is my first post, im preparing for an Endurance race that takes place in Venezuela, is a 1000+ mile journey ending in a 65 mile race to the finish.
the category I will be competing is:
    24 Ft or larger
    Single Engine
    No Jack Plate
    Standard Engine

Im fixing a 24 ft Pad-V Boat made by a Venezuelan Company called Challenger Boats, it has a 2006 Mercury 250 EFI completely standard.
with the current setup im gettin 60 MPH WOT 5600 RPM and a cruise speed of 45 MPH at 4800 RPM this is with a Mirage Plus 21 Pitch 3 Blades.
Tested a few weeks back with a Trophy Plus 4 blade 24 Pitch and got 64.8 MPH WOT 5600 RPM and a cruise speed of 48 MPH at 4800 RPM

Please let me know what can I do to get the most cruise and top speed out of this boat without breaking it.

Add another set of bolts should be 4 in the transom.

    Then the normal things.
Raise engine to reduce drag but maintain 10-12psi water pressure (in 06 might be able to get it of the scan tool)
pitch up till rpm drops. (Iirc it’s 5000-5800 on that model) going to a 24” trophy and not losing rpm to me means it has a good bit of power left, and the map sensor is leveling off power when the load evens out and pressure drops. Jump to 26-28 and work backwards. Common issue with map sensor motors.
Take weight out of the bow, the less power going to lifting it to the correct angle the more can be applied to forward thrust.

A sportmaster lwp foot would help but might not be able to due to class, they are also slower sometimes if not over some speeds.

A lot of testing and many props in your future, have fun.

Think he means use a Sportmaster lower unit; if it's allowed:

Engine needs to be raised at least one hole, two if water pressure allows. Are you allowed to block off top two water intake holes? That would allow you to run it higher.
