Replace air compressor 300xs yes or no?

    Hello,

Read lots of horror stories about air compressor failures. Blew up my first 250xs (due to a bad injector) and buy a 300xs with low hours.

Have 110 hours on it now, have the early unpainted compressor.
So I am thinking to replace it as preventative maintenance. Is it a good idea to replace it now its still running strong our safe to run more hours with it? So there is no risk for the engine and no cleaning ? Have bought already the new black compressor, read this newer one don't have the issues of the first type. Please let me know don't want to blow up another engine. Is there a avarage running hours the most compressors give faillure?

    Kind regards,
    Corne

You have the new compressor, use it. The one bearing compresser can fail without any consistency. The fact you bite the bullet on a new one, well the hard part already done.

I changed mine a few months ago , I figured it would be expensive if metal shavings went everywhere when it finally failed ....
