Recommendations on In-helmet Two way radios

Anyone have any experience on a cheaper alternative to the big money racing radios? Looking for a 2 way system with some sort of earbud for in helmet use. Amazon shows all kinds of cheap china radios with crappy reviews.....not really what I’m lookin for. Actual “Racing Radios” brands are like $1000......not really what I’m looking for either lol. Anything good out there that the driver will be able to hear good? Preferably in the $200 range.

Bluetooth seems a little overkill for what I want. I’m happy with a small 2 way radio and a cord to an earpiece and microphone.

My son and I use his motorcycle bluetooth setups for car track days. Right now he is anchored somewhere off Fort Jefferson so I can't contact him for the brand, but I am pretty sure it is the Sena as discussed in the first UTube link by JPEROG above. Bluetooth is not overkill--it is very simple. A little clip clamps onto the side of your helmet, the you twist lock in the unit, which has a boom mic and two little speakers that you can bury in the foam in your helmet or velcro in. Dirt simple, makes HPDE so much more fun (we always do two of us to a car, he drives advanced and I drive intermediate).

Ok ill start checking out Bluetooth stuff. Does it give sufficient range? I would need about 3/4 mile at most for our 800’ races.

I have no idea about range, but these are made for two on a motorcycle so they would not necessarily need anything like a quarter mile. I know that my bluetooth headset I used to use in the car would sometimes stay connected when I forgot to turn it off when I went into the house, and sometimes not, and we are talking about a couple of walls and maybe 60'. Bet their website would give a range, I would cut what they claim in half just 'cuz I am old and cynical.

Check out Rugged Radios. They are not real cheap, but have some great features like dynamic noise cancelling. I have headsets and in-helmet ear and mouthpieces when needed.
