    Exhaust divider ?

The first Mercury I started building Bridgeport and it had some land and sea heads (dual plug) whoever had it before me fabricated a exhaust divider plate to hold all of the extra coils.... when I sold the heads of course that went with it so I got an exhaust divider plate that is two separate pieces from a local marina ( I cut on it a little bit to get rid of the clamshell cowl brackets ) but all the holes line up and it looks like it's going to work great.....
Now that I've started getting all the parts together and preparing to build a 2.5 ...245hp... I noticed that that divider and plate are all one solid piece.... I know it's taking me forever to get to it but my question is. Is there a difference between the one piece and two piece plates are they interchangeable between the Bridgeport and the 2.5 .... and should I try to find one off of a performance motor for the Bridgeport or does it not really make any difference ??? I'll post a picture of the plate from the 2.5 now and when I get to the shop in the morning I'll post a picture of the two-piece plate that I shaved all the mounts off of ....
As always thank you guys for all your help !!!!
I know I ask a lot of questions but I'm trying to learn all I can and I do my best to research on the internet before I ask stupid stuff lol

.Thanks for the information... other than the different style Mounts for the cowl is there a difference between like a 260 2.5 divider plate and just the average fishing motor 2.5

... this is the one I planned on using on the bridgeport....its off a 2.4 fishing motor but I cut off all the clamshell mounting brackets sticking off of it.... I looked for a while and couldn't find one for a Bridgeport that came off a performance motor only found ones like from the fishing Motors

still had tha ears............ they might have went away with tha water cooled regulator but it would have tha coil plate like all tha later models so coils would not bolt straight to divider......... in other words if coils mount direct to tha plate it will have ears.

even tha hi perf. bungee strap cowl 2.0/2.4 motors had 'em.

Water cooled regulator for sure has no ears.
Would the coils run cooler when plate mounted?
