Squeek coming from my powerhead. Looper

Yesterday I took the boat out and it was squeeing as soon as it started. I only ran it long enough to put it back on the trailer. Normally I pump the bulb before I start it as I have a float bowl that leaks, this time I didn't. The squeel wasnt a constant scream, it pulsed. It didnt sqeek when I put it up the day before.

Sqeeking or sneezing? If it's sneezing it's running lean. If it's sqeeking pull the cover off and trace the sound to it's source.

No its not a lean sneeze. It sounds like a squeeking belt. When i got home I pulled the plugs and turned the motor by hand, everything felt fine. Im gonna go start it on the hose this afternoon to make sure its not the lower unit.

Any tricks to the oil lines that run from the bottom to the top bearing? Check valves, or anything like that in them?

I pulled the top line off and pumped a ton of oil into the bearing while it was on the hose last night. Nothing came out of the hose and I couldnt feel any pressure oranything coming out. I went around to the other side and I can blow through it. Ill work on it again monday.

Not familiar with the loopers...does that line come off the oil pump or from the bottom of the crankcase? It sounds like a line that takes unburnt fuel and oil and using crankcase pressure pushes it to the upper brg. The checkvalve would keep the oil from draining back down into the crankcase. Can't believe that that hose is the only source of oil...the fuel/oil charge being drawn into the intake has to oil the upper brg also. Make sure there isn't a crack in that line not allowing the extra oil from the crankcase from actually making its way to the brg,....just a thought.

Ok, so I pulled the check valve today and it was clogged on the lower end. Just so happens that I have a spare, and I put it in. Hopefully the bearing is ok. I think Im gonna go ahead and buy one anyway since its not that hard to change.

If the bearing is damaged, so will be the crank. Sure the squeak isn't a reed valve?

Positive, the bearing was not getting oil. I pumped oil to it by hand while it was running and i quit.
