    Hello Everyone,

I have an 03 225 opti that I知 trying to get running after a long sleep. Can you give me ideas for the tools I知 going to need to do this? Motor is on a stand at the moment. Thanks

Basic hand tools will get you started. Clean up fuel system, prime oil system. Fresh fuel and try and start it up with muffs on hose. If not running right, then check fuel pressures and air pressures in the rails with a fuel pressure ga capable of 120#s and a simple tire air pressure ga for the air side. Ignition wise a spark check tool is handy to have. Compression ga is also a good tool to have. Usually the 1st one I use to see if the motor is even worth messing with is a compression ga. 115# is good for an 225opti. Less than 105#'s is getting questionable.

The filter wrench is about it. And even it’s not fully needed.

Prime the oil oil system it can bleed away from the compressor.

The worst issue would be what gas was ran through. Mtbe/butyl ether, ethanol, methanol the three epa road blend fuels, Or good clean straight gas. Also the additives used. Isopropyl breaks down to acetone and eats/dissolves plastic (this is rare but happens it’s bad on sealed fuel supply lines and injection parts) and some stabilizers swell rubber.

Thats about it if stored good she should fire and run then the fun begins if something is wrong then worry

thanks for your comment. Any suggestions on how to wire it up to do compression test? I have remote switch, starter battery and jumper cables for the moment.

Just hook a battery up and use the remote switch to crank it just like any other engine
