I wish someone would copy the 2nd Gen hydrostream voyager. Such an awesome boat, just never got a fair shake.

I don't know if Critchfield may have copied an Allison, but the 13' Critchfiled that was so successful in EP was a Delta copy--something about that hull that was just plain fast. Not many Delta's around (Bruce Borkenhagen drove one that was very successful), but the Critchfields came to dominate the class, and after I got out of racing I believe Danny made one with a full cowl (and maybe a safety cell?).
    Per Rock:

"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."

    Per my hero Instigator:

"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

The Critchfield 15' needlenose was copied by a boat called a "Cold Turkey" it was a hull built as a throwaway race boat. Weighed only 250 lbs and most ran an 65-85 xs merc or a 70hp stinger johnrude. Knew a guy that had several of them. For a short time I had a real 15' Critchfield N/N with a 150XS. It was crazy and you could not run it wot. It was 350 lbs or so.
