That sucks. I've felt your pain before. In 2004 I put a rod through the block of my 03 F-150 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Edition Super Charged SVT motor. Was putting down well over 500 to the rear wheels on 17 lbs boost. I did get around 100 passes at our track (Bradenton Motor sports park) before it puked out the rod. Cost me around $5,000 to get another motor put in it. I had a loan on the truck and two weeks before I sent Jack Barsh several grand for deposit on a new Quarter Shot T3. TALK ABOUT FEELING SICK TO MY STOMACH. Jack was very cool about it and sent me my deposit back so I could fix the truck. I did get the boat built about 6 months later tho but man what a nightmare.
Hell last January I blew the 5.7 junk hemi motor in my 1500 Ram. Still owed $5,000 on the peice of crap. Was going to cost around $5,000 to put another motor in it too and I owed the bank $5,000 more on my loan. Again screwed by blown motor while owing tones of money still on the vehicle.
Good luck getting it worked out Dave. Like I said I've felt your pain I will never mod a new production vehicle ever again that I owe money on nor will I ever own another hemi. I know they arent all bad but it failed me in a big way and so im done with them. The Ford motor blew because I was way over the limit of the stock 5.4 rods in the f150 triton block and a lean condition.Rob Lankford

Davie, Rob, I've heard it go quiet ~ glanced to see no oil pressure ~ knew if I got on the binders I would be in the wall .. hard. Out with the laundry, then off to the side.
It's never cheap or quick to hang one together thats 'right". I swear, I could build two full chassis by the time I could get one "good" motor.
But guys, count your blessings.. you can fix your $hiz. My orthopedic guy told me to sell my car while I was only "half crippled". I won two championships with that car before I sold it to Willie ... He's bout owns Alaska Raceway with it now ..

I had a Magnum srt8 I put a supercharger on and a 2009 Jeep srt8 with a bunch of engine work and I thought they where fast. The trackhawk is really nice and the hellcat is also. I know someone with a Demon...that is one sick car! Modern muscle is out of control.

I assume that you will be going with an aftermarket short block assembly now?

Stock is 3.35 dropping to a 3.10 is approx 2lb gain. You should be at 11 to 11.5 stock. 3.10 = 13.5 lb. drop to 2.95 should be 15lb. That is what most say is about all the boost 93 octane can support. Any higher boost requires reducing timing to control detonation. A couple degrees of timing retard will drop HP more then the 1.5lb boost added. The reason i did not go to 2.95 upper and leave the hard to change lower stock. Is 2 parts. Main issue is the smaller the upper pulley, The less belt to pulley surface. That causes belt to slip at high rpm. Also the stock balancer is not keyed. Many reports of balancer spinning on crank snout. Not a issue when in warranty. But just the tune alone can kill warranty. Disclaimer...My motor has holes from rods exiting the block. Not wise to follow my advice.

From the many shops that have shortblocks listed online. I really had not considered needing a $4,500 shortblock that much of a issue. That changed fast when i actually tried to click the buy button. All not exactly same, but all have similar fine print. 4500...click..popup option box. Upgrade rods? click..new total 5400. ok...click..another popup option...upgrade pistons?..click...new total..6000..click..Can i interest you in a crankshat upgrade?...No..I will go with the 6k total...Core option..Will you be sending your core in for inspection? Or do want to pay 2800 core now? Pay core now...new total is 8800. Pay 8800 your motor will ship in 7 to 10 days. Send you core in for inspection. If all parts are in new condition and better quality then the one you bought from us. We will credit you back half of the 2800 core charge. Is there anything else we can ram up your ass today? ....No i am good..I will have to make this decision at a later date. Thank you for the dose of reality on my situation.

Davie , you know darn good and well you don't want no "stock replacement"
Get one of these and hide it under your desk

After a few more of them Burger King dividend checks

Let me know when you get the heads off ..
My favorite trick was the broken valve that beat around a while before turning sideways and finally coming to rest halfway up the intake port ...
