so what do you guys think of the new 19 ZR1's with 750 stock, change pulleys and be at 900, that car will be tough to beat on the street. Best bang for the buck ??

The ZR1 is a sick machine, however it is more dedicated as a track car and not a street car or drag car. To me it would be a waste to get a zr1 and only use it on the street or drag strip for what do they cost??? Like 130k?. You would be so much further ahead getting a 15 or 16 z06 with 5k miles on it ( most guys never drive them!) And spend the money on go faster parts.

I made the drive last weekend to HHP in Dover Delaware to get my final tune. Did the first 2 tunes thru email. Josh at HHP told me to pull another log and he would do the final tune. I told him i would be more at ease if he did final tune in person. He said be here Monday morning and he would work it in. 2100 mile round trip and averaged 20.5 MPG.

below is a video on the dyno.

I have heard only good things about hhp and Josh. The other forums speak very highly of them.

The 736whp must be lower pulley only or a very stingy dyno if you added the 3.1 upper to it too...

I did the 3.10 upper also. and demond injectors. It shows 15psi on the boost gauge. I am thinking of getting a 2.95 pulley and see what another 1lb does for it. I really want the Jokerz pulley with clutch. But site shows that he is delaying them for awhile.

Very nice. How is e85 availability around you? They are making crazy power on the corn juice.

I know if e85 were more readily available I would go that route.... but only 3 pumps within a 60 mile radius doesn't work for me!

I think E85 is available here. But i want to stay away from it. I am leery of anything i know nothing about. I think is is alcohol based. I do know alcohol will corrode a fuel system. And i really just burn rubber everywhere i go. Not any side by side racing going on.

That was many years ago Charlie. There is a 1992 one way trip to Okeechobee i can tie in to a reference point when i had the old tin shed on 3rd street. I think your debut was a year or 2 earlier. Our mutual departed friend Steve introduced us. You brought in some top secret small block 223 HP El camino heads. You wore out my air compressor but i think you did port the heads to 246 HP. You insisted on sweeping the whole shop for the use of air for a few days. You sure have come along way since then. On the other hand i am still doing the same thing a few miles down the road. I did move up to a block building with a few less leaks in the roof.

I love me some e85 I filled up for $2.35 in my little street ride last night. Working on e85 map now once it's perfect I can have the ECM have control of ignition and fuel map based on percentage of ethanol present. So I can run 93 octane if I feel.Click image for larger version.

Tin Shed on third street .. ? I remember it as the size of an old Wal-Mart ..
Magic happened at that place .. at Dunn Farms and Aces on 39th too .

One day your dad and I went to lunch in his white 70 Camaro he said , reach behind you and open that bottle ... Bwawwwww, Bwaawwww , Bwaaaaaaawww .. At the stop sign he said ... Now you know how they beat you with that green 4 door Chrysler .
Next time out at Rinker , I made him open the trunk ...

Steve was a good man who would always feed me work . I'm sorry to hear he passed away . Like you , he seemed to come up with cars on his lot that I wanted , just didn't have the money for . I'm glad you got a Mopar this time instead of a COPO Camaro , So I don't have to feel envious once again ...

I still keep two 80 gallon compressors tied together and switch power back and forth as the heads melt off of em ...
And ifin ya ever want me to come sweep the floor again . Well , It's the least I could do ...

Took Challenger to the track last night for the first time. Found out even with the drag radials you still have to ease it off the line. 1st pass 12.32 at 128. 2nd and 3rd passes 11.11 both at 128. 4th and 5th was a 10.86 / 10.87 at 129.52. Was lined up again wanting a 130 mph run but the rain came just as i was staging so have to wait for another day. Been lurking the internet most of the day looking for some suspension magic to get it to grip at full throttle start. That easing into it off the line kills the ET and it takes a quick 60ft to get ET to match my MPH speed. I think a 129 pass could be a 10.40 pass with a 1.40 60ft. My best was a 1.66 last night.Click image for larger version.

Thats impressive Dave. In a few months when the air gets good you'l be even quicker. I dont see you ever being able to full throttle luanch that car in street set up. Keep messing with tire pressures. I think in time you'e get a better feel at the launch and that 60' will come down Get some video of the next time your at the track

Fun thread. As I read through the 7 pages I noticed no mention of power to weight ratio. I've been a hot rodder for almost 50 years and during those years I was fighting the laws of physics in an attempt for faster acceleration. I was only changing the power equation and not the mass equation. Below is my ride from the late 70's, '55 427 Ford Side Oilier, blown for good measure. I couldn't get it to break out of the 12's in the 1/4 mile because like the current Detroit Missile, the Hellcat, a good launch was hard to achieve due to traction limitations.

    URL=http://s1236.photobucket.com/user/deckofficer/media/Old%20ides/Image10694x970.jpg.html][/URL]

Borrowed a friends slicks (non DOT approved) and not only launched way harder than ever before, the up shift of my old C6 slush box was violent and felt like it was going to grenade on me. On my street radials always a soft launch and up shift into 2nd caused tire spin and an 12.1 second ET. The one and only pass on those borrowed slicks bypassed the entire 11 second range and netted a 10.8 ET. I'm certain my drivetrain would not have lasted long running those slicks.

About 15 years ago I decided to attack this problem from a different angle and that was to propel less mass and get a more favorable power to weight ratio. Think of this in boating terms, a Kevlar laid up 375 lb STV hull matched to a 375 lb Merc 280 2.5. The below innocent looking ride tips the scales at 1790 lb. I have run 3 different engines, here are the ETs and the hp of each.

    320 hp 11.4 ET
    386 hp 10.8 ET
526 hp 9.7 ET this is a Dart block 427 that is my current engine.

No more slush boxes for me, manual 5 speed Tremec TKO 600 into a Jag IRS (like the cushy ride) 3.54 rear end. 31" tires (diameter).
