The Exorcist is a sweet car, but for 125k I'm thinking he can get his hellcat to wax that car a$$. That leaves him 75k for mods. I have seen numerous hellcats run low 9s with mods that aren't even in the 20k budget range!
Heck, there is a guy in Michigan that just ran a 9.68 at 144 with bolt ons only. Here is his list of mods. He offers this package (Other than gears, driveshaft and tires) for $5 grand!!!
9.5% overdrive damper
3.1in upper pulley (about15.5psi boost)
Off-road mid pipe
3.09 gears
e85 fuel, 130# injectors
1-peice DriveShaft
JLT cold air intake
KB boost a pump
305 / 45 / 18in DR's
I am a die-hard corvette and gm guy.... but the gm cars don't have as tough of a rotating assembly and the blowers aren't as big or efficient as the hellcats and demons, plain and simple. This is coming from a guy that had 3 vettes before his hellcat!Last edited by Rynobull; 03-11-2018 at 01:36 PM.

interesting post on a wacker forum. wanna race? when the HC first came out, every kid that had one wanted to race my stock C7 Z06. they run strong, but the Z has always pulled them. i do occasionally drag race mine with a best of 10.71 @ 133 mph. completely stock with only DR's, it is #6 on the corvette forum Z06 fast list. this is with crappy CA air. the lowest i have run with is 2500' in the spring. the faster HC's i have seen at the drags with DR's run 10.90 with an auto and good burnout.
needless to say, my 28 Speedster with twin 400's feels pathetically slow in comparison.

03-13-2018, 11:48 AM #67I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Good body style. Can't really compare, tight refinement, no drama, no stink idle, etc vs drive it with multiple sensory inputs adding to the big block sound. But those vettes are stylin.

Since you guys seem to be migrating to the track . I sold my car to a guy named Willie in Alaska . Short season for them , two months then off for ten ... long wait .
It stank like embalming fluid , got about 5 gallons to the mile . Went 60 feet in less than a second . Did Zero to 175 in 4 seconds and would go 200 ( non dash board recorded ) in a couple more ticks ...

Not many cars in their Top class , so they run a heads up - index / no break out deal . He told me that win cost him a permanent index hit ... LOL
Yes , that is one of my 250" wheelbase cars . They were all 24" between the drivers shoulder hoop and the front face of the motor. They changed between the footbox and front axle and between the motor plate and rear axle to come up with different length cars , dependent on power , transmission type , etc .
I know it's fairly easy to move the fixture around on a jig table . I started off with a long table and set my markers , which in that industry is really common . I have always wondered why the little boat's like STV's , Mirages , etc. that were designed back when 2.4's were king .... never really grew in length and moved key weight (read fat azz , battery , fuel tank or forward sponson tanks ) components around as power increased . All I ever heard was , man ya gotta be careful with one of those , they blow-over real easy ...
