Oscar and his crew worked some long days over the weekend and the deck was pulled this afternoon. Hull weight came out at 1250 and the deck came out at 446. A reference for those that are not familiar with hull weights, a light weight 24 skater is 1650 and there is no core on the tunnel sides to get them that way. This boat is built very stout with complete core as shown, additional running surface support added and still came out where it did. I am very happy with these results and the pride of workmanship and attention to detail that was put forth by everyone involved.

I'm eager to see hull and deck flanges cut off and how you bond hull to deck . I assume you spray the seam with gelcoat and buff ?I assume you use flange to temporally align up hull and deck and then send in the smallest Mexican you have to glass hull to deck ? Then after cut off flange , glass seam outside , body work then gelcoat ?

The two molds were cut on the CNC and mate up perfect. There is minimal body work and yes they are glassed along with all of the deck rings being taped in. The liner is attached to the tunnel top and its ready for battle. The cost of building these molds and all of the patterns was substantial but as you have seen on this thread, it makes for a fast and consistent production process.

The progress that Oscar and his crew are putting into this boat for me is absolutely amazing. I really can't thank these guys enough for putting in the hours that have in the last week. They cut the flange and are marching forward so that Oscar can get to a point where he can break away for a few days to spend time with his wife and son. He and is wife just had a new baby that was premature and his esophagus was not fully developed to connect his throat and stomach. Please add he and his family in your prayers, his son will have to spend the first 4 to 6 months of his life in the hospital and undergo numerous procedures throughout the process.
