"Sutphen is a custom builder, hand built one at a time. No more than twelve a year. We are the only company to build what we call a soft ride 26 degree variable Vee bottom for a easy landing in big water and great turning ability. Also by not having what we call a constant Vee the trim angle is not as critical and is more forgiving if you are a little off you don't scuff off speed. Our boats are wider forward to keep dry and makes for a roomier cabin." (Sutphen Power boats)
Looking for a fun fast lake boat? Look no further than this Sutphen 17. She's been meticulously maintained and ready to race. Comes with Load Rite Trailer.Last edited by mainedrive; 02-26-2018 at 07:49 PM.

This is interesting. Do you know the weight of the hull? Would you be willing to snap a couple of pics of the dead rise portion of the transom? How fast is it with the 2liter 200?

Thank you refaman8. I'll keep you posted. How about a 31' Fountain? Selling that too and it's in Maine. 1992 with (2) Mercury Verado 275 (150 hrs). It's listed here as well.

Hey npark,
According to Sutphen:
Hull weight: 900lbs
Dead Rise: 18 degree
Could do 70-80 with the 200 on there.

I was lucky enough to have a sport pacer for about 10 years. Last motor was a 175 OMC it would hit about 65 solo on a good day. The motor was set back about 3 inches, had a 7 degree negative pitch and the plate was about 1/2 inch up over the pad. It also had a homemade ski bar and would ventilate initially when coming out but once the bow dropped it pulled far harder than any of my buddy's Ski Supremes. Great ski boat, and it still filled the need for speed!

No it has not sold. But we decided to keep it. Too much history in this boat.
