    Motor from the north

    I bought a 1991 Mercury 150 Black Max from Ohio and I live in Louisiana the altitudes are totally different from one another would I need to adjust the carbs for my altitude here in Louisiana I know you you could do it on your older carb vehicles and make a difference just wondering the same for an outboard

    There is little to no difference in the altitudes..... I think most of the groupings are 0-2000 ft 2001-3500 and so on....So as Capt. said No!!!

    Wouldn't hurt to check how it's jetted, maybe someone had it on one of those high alpine Ohio lakes or rivers.

    Also check the cold temp throttle restrictor if it has one. It might not most were just throttle stops you could set it freezing weather as many would gain up to 500 rpm from hot weather.
