I have purchased my first twin outboard rig. I can not find info on cr lower units. Can someone educate me on what I need and how they work?

I can't find parts break down , I haven't found a single set of gears or websites to buy parts. I would rather learn to rebuild them than rebuy them.

Back in the old days, before C/R l/u,s you could convert std. rotation to left rotation. they were not shiftable but lasted good. cost about $1,000. to convert.

What boat, some people just run two standard rotating lowers. With modern hydraulic steering and some hulls the difference is negligible. I would try it and see before I wen to the expense of rebuilding one.
