    mercury 3.0 reeds and cages

I need to know the difference tween the 828623T6 and the 840418T04. The T6 lists at 131.58 while the T04 lists at 245.35. Both are rubber coated with metal reeds and stops. They look the same to me but I am going to sell them and need to know what I am selling. Thanks

Rock they probably are the same. Mercury prices parts for high perf. stuff higher. sometimes the high perf. parts are diff. sometimes they are not, but you won,t know until you compare them side to side.

I have them side by side and can't find a lick of difference. The less expensive units are new in the box. The more expensive are used and possibly the ones that came in those boxes were different.

Rock, I should have explained earlier. high perf. parts are more expensive, than stock parts, when they are the same. Merc. has to warranty that part for 1 or 2 years, depending on part. they feel failure rate is higher,. when used high perf., than stock. therefore they charge more for high perf. parts.

This tells me the 840418 is not in the box they came in which makes sense as they are the used ones. Thanks for the info guys.
