    Rebuilding 200 Pro Max

    Hi All,

Looking for some info on who to buy performance internal engine parts for a Pro Max. Its a 200 now and would like to get as much HP as I can.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Yes! Sell your 200 PM and buy a 225 PM, it will be cheaper in the long run and not take away from longevity.... MPO.

+1, and you will still need an SVS and some cut heads to take that 225 PM over 250 HP

100% factory 225pms dynoed between 247-249 hp from what I’ve seen.

The dyno charts have been posted here before

So they need a little help to get over 250..

I spent a ton of money making my 200 XRI run very well, pushed my xb2003 right at 90 light, and mid/upper 80's loaded, but it would have been way cheaper to sell it and buy a 225 Promax instead.

I mainly did it because I was able to spread the cost and upgrade parts over several years.

However, 225 promax still out ran me on top.

I had always planned on going with a 260 or 280 once I ditch my 2.4s... but lately I've been looking at the 225PM motors, they make wild power, but they don't turn a ton of RPM it seems. Can they do so reliably? Just prop it up and go type situation?

200pm lacks the porting of a 225 and also 5 pedal front, i think my 2.4 bridgeports were stronger than 225 promax , til the nic wore out lol. I have a horn front 225pm for my xb03, but it's alot cheaper to bolt a 250xb or 300pmax on it and still have 55 amp electrics and reliable oil inj. So thats what i did.

Not sure about wild HP.... but they do run very well and are underrated HP for a 225.
Yes, they can but if you plan on spinning them high R's regularly I would suggest to build it internally accordingly.
Keep in mind that most motors that spin high R's usually have a shorter longevity.

I had very good luck with Vertex pistons and metal caged bearings in my 200. It was built and propped to turn 7K and it did for miles on end...
