Exclamation Mercury back at Lake X

I suppose many of you know this by now, but Mercury is back at Lake X. All the original buildings are still there, including the observation tower. That's just very cool.

I was there on the very last day that Mercury was there back in 2004. I saw the Mercury Racing trailer there and almost everything had been moved out already. That was kind of sad, but I'm really happy to see them back. And I can't wait to go back there.

Cool! I hope they stay for a while. I`ve never been there and prolly never will but it would be nice to see some boat racing history preserved. Kinda like the Miami Marine Stadium.

No, all the original buildings are not there. The motel is gone, the 2 stroke building on the inlet is history. Mercury is in there for the new product testing but for how long is anyone's guess, I guess.

I know of one person still with us locally here in Fond du Lac that was a part of the 50,000 mile run. I should go talk to him and get some insite from his point of view.

That's what the Merc guys told me, but I assumed by "all" they meant the most iconic of the buildings; obviously I haven't been there yet, but hope to be soon

Yeah well, they'd have to have something high performance to run there first.

I’m sure they can get their hands on another tunnel hull if they need one Parker...
