You are right. It is a Misty Harbor copy. They were made in 2008,09, and 10, by two wealthy young men in Michigan as a hobby. They made 18 copies, 15- 24' and 3-21', my son had a 21' with a 250 Ho-etec on it, and it ran 76 mph. The man that made these boats had 4 semi-accessories stores, which they sold to an investment group in New Jersey for 20 million dollars. Now they live in Naples, Florida and they do not pursue the hobby of making boats any more.

Yes that's what I thought. I remember the old Misty Harbor design. Hope to see photos!

Here is a hypertoon for sale. I decided to pass on it as I don't think it will go over the rough stuff as well as I need it too. With only 18 of them out there, I hope I don't regret passing on it.

The 250-HO e-tec pushed the hypertoon 70.2 mph. But now we have a new Yamaha 450S on its way in. We hope this will push it at least 79 mph. Cant wait for the day we get to test this boat.

This thread has my attention, I'll put my .02 in the box.. We build and sell quite a few tritoons and I've been playing around with setup for years. The bottom line is, nobody who "has it figured out" wants to share secrets. There is a reason only one or two single engine boats are in the 70s. Or at least those are the boats that are common knowledge. There is a "wall" that pontoons hit at about 50mph. All brands out there hit it. I can make almost all my inventory go 40-45mph fairly easy but cresting 50 takes work on production boats. (or way more hp than it should to make up the difference.)
Bentley Pontoon owners and dealers make some pretty radical claims. All over facebook there are guys stating speeds that just don't make sense.(to me anyway) We don't see many Bentleys in my area but I've studied their bottoms and rigging. Small strakes, mostly 3/4 length center toons, light framework... Playpens that are only about 1/2 to 3/4 solid. I'd love to see if or why they preform, but I'm personally not buying it.
Look at that old Manitou video at the shootout... Look at Dorris' video in the Hampton... MY theory is that these two boats are fast because they are riding on the center toon only. The outside toons are like sponsons in the videos. When I went to the Playcraft / Hampton factory, the stepped toons were pretty new. Joe told me the Steps gained lots of MPH but they weren't glued to the lake for easy driving. In fact, you REALLY have to drive them. I think stepped toons are the next evolution in the performance toon market, they just need refined. Much like the lifting strakes were in the 90s / 00s. *which the Dorris family also claims to have started. (like them or not, they have done alot for the pontoon go fast market.)
I looked into the Hypertoon brand a couple years ago and just like everyone else, not much was found. I do remember tracing a Patent back to the owner of Veranda and the interlocking floor system.
I would really enjoy helpful Pontoon / Tritoon discussion. I think its the next market to really explode. Just look at sales of fiberglass compared to toons the last 10 years. 85% of the boaters on the lake dont care about being the fastest toon on the water but that 15% is what is going to propel the next wave of performance goodies.

The demand is so high on the performance end that there is a long waiting period to get any performance pontoon other than what the dealers pre ordered. My last two boats took 9 months and now Playcraft is quoting a 1 year wait.

The two brands we sell are sold out for the ‘18 model year. It’s a crazy time for toon sales.

First thing said this is my opinion & we all have one !!! no-one get offended !!!! as far as pontoons i have no opinion or first hand knowledge , but in reference to the verados i can go on forever ,, unless you have first hand knowledge which i do , i see a lot of comments on here about the whipple ecu tuning that are just opinions , the programs do give you more acceleration and some top end !!! as for dyno numbers no i have have never seen them but they also don't mean a top end gain due to hull inefficiency or lower unit & prop issues ,, as for warranty yes it does void your warranty but when does ur ecu go to mercury ?? never !! & yes my motors are flashed !!! & most the guys i know with verados are all flashed !!!! with warrantys !!!! again my opinion !!!!
