    Restoring a 2000 21 Liberator (build thread)

I just got this 2000 21 Liberator in trade. It will be for sale when done. I weighed the hull. Came in at a light 938 lbs. This thing is gonna fly! If someone wants it within the next week, It can be painted any way you want. It will get a full custom paint job, new interior, carpet, guages, wiring, jackplate, oil tank and battery, all the powdercoated stuff I use, gas tank, stereo, rubrail, steering wheel, etc. The ONLY thing I will keep is the Seastar steering and windshield. It will not be able to tell the difference between this boat and a 2018 when I get done. It has a single axel aluminum trailer, but that can also be upgraded. I will put either a 2000 Mercury 300 Promax with 92 original hours or a 2014 300xs with about 300 hours on it.

Here's the start of the build thread

I like the way it looks now. If i were to do anything different it would be to add some orange and red stripes against the yellow but I know that's not Randy`s style. I can`t buy it anyhow so I`ll just be happy with my Riot and enjoy this thread. One of these days tho!

Had a small soft spot in the transom. I got my fiberglass guy to cut out the entire transom and knees. It's getting replaced with all composite. No more wood. THAT"S NOT ME GRINDING! I look younger!

Yeah, if it wasn't for him, we'd all be covered in fiberglass dust. ( I am anyway though ) Just not as much!

Me and a friend replaced the transom in his 21 Lib with three laminated layers of 1/2" Coosa. One piece top to bottom. That was 10 tears ago still going strong. Oh and we rigged it with twin Mercs.

I cut out any soft coring on the floor. I am also beefing up the tops of the tunnels where the knees will attach. We put three layers of 1708 on the inside of the transom. Next will be a divinicell composit transom and more heavy glass. I also am glassing the front sponsons and the outside of the transom so there will be no seams.
