another question.....ive been told time and time again that the a48 curve is "safer" for boat riding over the a6

using the brucato software to look at each map....i dont see the difference besides fuel psi compensation

maybe one of u merc guys can explain how its "safer"

Well come on down to the river in 2 weeks and watch #3 in action.
River Ranch run just north of Camp Mack bridge under the big oak trees.
Will have a keg and a grill going. Should be a good time to watch it melt down....................

A-6 has to be set up w/lap top by someone with knowledge and experience doing it. If the fuel curve is rich enough then it should be safe but seems kind of wasted on a lake boat. I would run an A-48 set rich enough to make the motor live.

thats another one of my questions bull......im using brucato software and have both a6 & a48 to look at.....on the laptop the 2 curves seem to have the same graph other than fuel psi comp. (could just be a brucato thing) but i dont see the differnce.

ive ran a A6 on my lake boat and it did wake it up but toasted 1 after 30 hrs ( not sure if it was fuel map related)

i can and did add fuel to the A6 in certain places but was asking if it was in correct spot and enough added to be safe while cruising

It's been a few beers and a few years but Tony's 6 curve has the "fix" in it if I remember right and it's up to you to adjust from there. The original factory a6 box was meant to run through the rpm range at full throttle on a light boat with a small prop. Not to have a 32 on and linger around with the cruise control on.

They came on 2.5 drag race motors, not 2.5 sight seeing motors.

cappy i understand what the a6 was intended for.

i didn't know brucato had "the fix" in it already.... would make sense why the a6 and a48 are looking identical

goal was to have a 56lb boat riding curve.....no matter what i called it.....cause i have seen the higher psi help

certain someone in FL is running big props with modded a6 i believe.....i was just looking for someone to teach me where and why

Well I finally got it to run wide open throttle and not melt down.
WH-15 .106 mains. 8 PSI fuel pressure stock needle and seats.
Goes full rich at wide open EGTs drop off from 1150 to 1030 at full open. Stalls at 7600 RPM 93 MPH 28p prop.
Using stock cut heads for now till the billet pucks come in. 110 PSI cranking pressure.
Can run miles and miles wide open now no problem. will lean on it from here when I get the good heads back on it.
See you all at The Kissimmee river this weekend...........................................

Are you running 16amp charging? Some of the guys I know went to a 39psi for boat riding and switch to a 56 for racing and either run an adjustable regulator or switch them out due to the fact that they found the 39psi system draws less amps running the pump on long runs to not wear the battery down too much. Depending on your battery size options this might be something to ponder.

watch your needles and seats, 8 psi might start to cause problems, I can’t run mine that high it will float them and flood the motor.

Big batteries? That makes a big difference too, and length of runs.

I’ve seen before for boat rides with 56, guys taking the smaller 12v for 24v trim and rewiring for 12v parallel for extra compacity for boat rides and just not having 24v trim(who uses a trim computer for boat riding anyway lol).

Glad it’s working for you, I’d rather have the 56 too and deal with the bigger battery
