ID:	397856I saw this on an older FI boat and thought it could work for me. I had a SS T made for the starboard water dump with a threaded bung that accepts the sending unit for the temp guage. A small SS bolt was welded to the T for a ground wire. This should help moniter warm up.

Yep that should work good, when we go out for a run and get back on the trailer and put our hands on the motor its quite warm 100 degree maybe ? keep forgetting the inferred temp reader but dry stacked with no stats you would think it would run cold but it runs nice and warm but no way near hot about perfect.

When I first saw how Ken had his cooling running form the heads right out the back of the pan I though he was nuts! I just though there would be far too much cooling and the motor wouldnt get up to temp but it works GREAT! I think I learn something every time we go out or we BS in the garage with Ken, lots of real world knowledge I hope to learn. Many thanks already to Ken, and more to come as he is already on me about getting my mod powerhead over to his place so we can see what is needed to fix it up and get 90+ this year!

Gary, so I hear you may make a trip to MN this summer? That would be bad ass, keep me informed so I can get some more streams out when you come!

Well got a chance to get back at it. Had some "wrapping" done on the cowl and other parts by my sign co. ( Wicked Stickey Graphics).
As I mentioned before this is a Viper "Resto-Mod" and I wanted to add some contempary goodies to her. I have always loved carbon fiber as you can see. I coated all the cowl locking handles and the lifting handle on top with fine grain truck bed coating for durabilty.

I opened up the rear vent under the handle and installed a vent cover. The handle is tipped up a bit to trap air to vent the cowl.

Oldy we learned this a long time ago, never open up an air path from the back of the cowl, always take it in from the front or the sides.
