Finally got some me time to start the demo.

First thing I was reminded is, how much I hate I/Os!
    Ugh

Another project that I watch the intended donor part sale items disappear in front of my eyes.
Check the carb squirter. Corrosion from the humid salt air in its previous life.

Not sure which part of sun lounge is worse, the giant hole I get to patch or that ugly ass sticker that has to come off
Will be way happier when it is down to bare hull.

Well I got a half a day to myself in the shop today.

Was shocked to discover my cherry picker had enough lift to get the motor out of the boat.
Boat was trapped in by dead golf cart which is a PIA to push so I used it as an anchor hooked a come along to it and winched the boat out from under the motor.

Previous owner was correct in that the car motor dropped a valve as shown. I didn't know the oil pan had a gallon and half of water in it.
So resale value of car parts crap keeps flying out the window.

The good is, I'm almost to my blank canvas to start the project.

There are some differences in the flywheel stuff from standard Chevy V8 stuff. I don’t know all the details but there are some funky bolts on some models. Marine conversion stuff is available though, I’m sure there’s somebody out there that knows specifics.
