    Yep
    Have used these for yrs.

Thats what holds the cushion on my sun lounge.
Was rotted when I bought it and had to rebuild it.

...and then, when you go to install these side panels, you don't/can't use locknut type nuts. you use a regular flat washer(or fender washer), a regular lock washer, and a regular 1/4"-20 nut. all stainless only. we always used a little 90 degree, 1/4" drive,(or 3/8" drive) air wrench with a deepwell socket...that you simply reach back there & zip down the nut with. goes fast that way & doesn't over tighten the nut.

    I don’t believe Special K is a CM.

Gary, I’m glad you got the boat wet! Can’t wait for a ride someday.

Was the test ride at Delaware Res? Back in the early 80s, my dad and a buddy took a CM jetboat down there one cold December day for a test ride. They were the only truck at the main ramp. They put in and idled out towards the main channel. As they were running down the main channel on the east side, dad noticed the boat was filling up w- water (hose or something). They beached the boat on the far East side before it sank......and then had to hike thru briars and snow for miles to find a road and a ride.

**** like this is why this project ain’t done yet.

My brain starts more projects than I can finish!

Did this to my last Sonic too.

I don’t like the traditional anchor light that plugs into a socket the transom.
The socket fills w/water, corrodes and then doesn’t work.
The removable light gets lost, beat up, wet, and doesn’t work when needed.

The big one for me is the safety aspect.
On a boat that sits low at transom, high at bow, that light might might not even be visible to on coming traffic.

We spend a lot of nights at anchor and I want ALL traffic to see us.

Not quite as clean as not being there but I’m OK w/transferring from purely aesthetic to functional and safe.

Had to make a longer pole for this one then bend it to fit the form where it’s mounted.
Also had to fab the mount for windshield.

I really like how it came out.

Interesting lil tid bit is, where the lamp rests on the front deck, is a raised area that at some point in the deck molds life it used to have a socket there for the anchor light.

Ill glue down a small piece of rubber to cushion the lamp from the Lake Erie waves.

Instead of rubber, how about using the larger prong Velcro strips like we use to hold Sunpass transponder to the windshield. It is clear and the adhesive is strong but easily removed if needed. They sell it at HD and can be cut to size.

    Something like this stuff?

    Yep.

    One of my favorite tools.

Drastically reduces tuning time on a new/unknown set up.
    Especially idle and mid’s.
Will get you close on mains.

Load the jets/tools in the back of the truck and leave the boat strapped on the trailer.
Hit the ramp mid wk, mid day (no one around), back it in far enough to get the exhaust under water to put back pressure to the motor to set idle, do a pull, pull it to top of ramp, make changes, repeat.

Pull plugs to look at pistons etc.

In the Fla heat, I even set up anchor shades in the cockpit, over the motor to give shade.
