25' Checkmate Convincor I/O to twin O/B's

All the motor mounts I have built (a bunch) were laminated pieces of marine plywood built up and shaped. Then glassed over. The good quality ply was able to withstand the water and not rot.

I have a 38 Eliminator Eagle o4 it was never sealed around the transom assemblies transom was rotten as hell. The last 6” of the outside stringers were not glasses to the transom Just had gel cote over bare wood. So was the cardboard cored cockpit liner $400k boat built like crap. It’s all coosa now and back together.

I had a 33 in that is the same way. Guy wants to do 6's and 860s but he's rebuilding the boat instead

Gary, it's Cary... Spoke to you about the outboards a few years ago. I'm going back to them again... Going to rerig my boat again. Hoping to get the new 500plus Merc... 2019 they say.. The 28 around the corner for my house sits again for another season. I think it has 350 mag/bravos in it which would be a nice package. I should knock on the door but I already have a boating problem

Here is how I did my Seebold 25 conversion that went from single BBC to twin OB. I never saw any indication of movement the next 6 years I ran it, and I did not baby it.
Centerline of the OBs was about an inch off the stringer C/L but it didn't seem to matter.

Bajas did interior lay outs better than Checkmate but nothing else.
Not even close.
I really like their 235 Force from the same era.
Motors on that boat are early/mid '80's and near worthless.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

That boat w/twin small blocks would be a nice boat.
