Steve Smith did the Dunamis cut from choppers. It was similar to my non expert eyes to an offshore cut. Less blade area, a bit higher revving, potentially more speed. I don't think he is in business anymore.
Steve worked a Trophy for me and it's great. The Dunamis cut he did for me was jewelry quality.Last edited by David; 12-27-2017 at 09:50 AM.

Yes, that is the basic shape.
My 28 Dunamis was not enough pitch, so I did not gain any speed.

I seem to remember that (or something pretty similar) being called a "Texas cut". Does that ring a bell with anybody?

I have 20 thru 28 dunamis cuts from Steve Smith. I really like them and they perform well. I put about the same numbers up as I do with the yamaha's. The only difference I have noticed is the yamaha's seem to slip a bit higher then hook. My 20 22 24 have been back and forth to DAH for some fine tuning which did help them perform better. I believe the offshore cut is from a big ear chopper with 14 1/2" blade where the dunamis is made from small ear inline 6 prop. They are a better prop for lighter boats I have run them on my Mirage copy and my T-1 but let many people try on different boats and seem to perform well. The biggest down fall is the small ear choppers are old and getting a good clean one is tough and susceptible are to cracking when running them surfaced for long periods. I ran all Yamaha last season but would never sell any of my Dunamis. Hope this helps

boat is a dory13, similar to what a boston whaler 13 looks like.
I have a srx and wondered about benefits or cons to doing something like that to one of those..
its just an idea in the pipeline

and how well does an SRX work on something like that?? do you know where the motor height is at?
-
01-01-2018, 01:35 PM #15
tried motor height from prop centre 6 inch below boat to 2 inch above..
srx is not enough bow lift, and too much lift at the stern....
I need more bow lift than the srx is willing to give it.
