Got it flipped, bottom is not too bad. The pad is only flat for a few inches forward then begins to take on a V shape that gets gradually more pronounced as it goes forward. Normal?Click image for larger version.

OK two BIG product complaints. I got some Interlux Primecoat epoxy primer, one quart can. Got about 2/3 of the bottom primed and ran out of paint. GRRRRR.....Thought it was supposed to cover 450 sq. ft.
Also got some 3M "Edgelock" blue painters tape. It blew off when I sprayed it.....junk. The old 3M blue tape worked good. Maybe it was just old on the shelf?

Well I really thought this was going to go much faster. Between illness in my family and ridiculous amounts of rain, I have slowed to a crawl. I shot the primer on the deck yesterday. I had finished sanding and masking the day before, just before a deluge....the paper and tape dried out so I took a chance...
Well, I have some cleanup to do. I ripped all the tape and paper off and I will sand the primer, then remask the freakin thing. Then finish the white part of the deck. I am going to re-clear the red after that, hoping that the decals don't lift.

Anybody have any experience with that?

I have to come back and look at my own pics for inspiration to continue....Is that anything like self abuse?

If you put several very thin coats over the stickers they should be ok. The main thing that lifts them is the solvents in the paint. Letting the thin coats dry between shots is important. Next day lightly sand the surface (carefully, not boogering up the stickers) and apply the final coats of clear. They should be immune to the heavier finish coats then. Done this before with 100% success.

Had planned on light coats to start, thought I would let it flash, then lay down the clear. Thanks for the tip on the overnight drying, will do. Very glad to hear from someone who was successful at this.

Well painting is complete. Came out very good for me, by far the best of my boat paint jobs. Would have been excellent except for the big wind gust right after the first coat of red that blew some vegetation out of the trees....oh well, it'll buff....

My motto is "It don't look too bad if ya don't look too close..."

    Floor paint next, then rigging.

Got the interior sprayed white. I was gonna try splatter paint but I am sick of masking and spraying. I had some polyurethane hull paint left and It looks OK white.

On to rigging, as $$$ allow.

Boat sure is looking good. Got a prop picked out yet? I ran a 26p small dia cleaver on mine with a 150 XS.....Slow to plane off but worked best on the top end. Chopper gave it all the bow lift you could handle, but planed off good.

Had an opportunity to pick up a 24 chopper cheap so I will start with that. Just have to test some, but as you say, been told cleavers work good for top end.
