I am interested. The skeg looks like it a lot of it was ground off. I would to have to weld some aluminum back on it. Did it hit a rock? Is the propshaft bent? Why is it low compression after only 275 hours?

Never mind. I did not look at it that closely until now. I just tossed it in that scrap bin. Motor does look beat all to hell for only being 4 years old.

I noticed that to after looking at it a little better. That is why i tossed it. I will look my future purchases over a little better from here on out. That scrap aluminum i paid 8,000 for only brought 118 dollars at the scrap yard today. I guess i can write some of it off this year at tax time. We live and learn.

I found a 2013 300xs at the scrap yard if you're interested. The guy who worked there said the guy who dropped it off mentioned it was fresh water only. I saw salt on the block and had it sent to a laboratory for inspection. Appears it was actually those Tom's salt & vinegar chip residue. Paid 150 dollars for it but I'll let it go for 200 plus laboratory fees. Oh and it has low compression on #6.

any chance that you will be a nice guy and let me get lower unit back? i will give you back the 150.00 you paid the scrap yard. I went back there a few days later and cashier said someone drugg it out of the container and they sold it for scrap value plus a fee. Several people told me i was stupid for dumping it. i am now thinking i should at least try to get lower unit back and keep it for parts. Let me know. looks like you are only a 20 min drive from me.

I guess I'd be an ass if I didn't sell you at least the lower. I don't have any use for the motor anyways. Ive been trying to drain the oil out of the powerhead to refine and use in my tractor but I can't find the drain plug for it. I'll drop the lower off tomorrow since you're right up the road

You are going to have to check with that Crazy Local guy down your way on the crank. I guess i am lucky enough to get lower unit back for a decent price.
