what changed was the pit crew cant alter the engine/car so the driver does it after the pit crew work out what to do or send coded messages as lots of talk is prohibited during a race.

First practice of season, tonight at 10:00.
    Yay!

Was always my sign I made it through another ****, Ohio winter.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

P3 and Qualifying both started late and didn't make it to the end of the time schedule. Yeah, nothing like not getting to see the complete program, WTG ESPN top notch programming.

I guess I need to record the program that comes on after the F1 programs to see the whole thing this season. Also Paul di Resta and the other person commentating during P3 was like listening to a couple of teenage girls. I think they must get payed by the amount of words they speak.

    Agreed.

i taped both and added extra time to make sure and get it all.

The highlight was Hamilton putting down a stunning lap for pole.
Seb lead the 2nd qualifier w/his own amazing lap that blew me away.

Hamton beat that by .8 in the final qualifier!

    The TV coverage sucked.
The only one left from last yr is Will Buxton, who I really like and was only on to interview top 3 qualifiers!

Will see if any of the other guys are back tomorrow.

Amazingly our local paper printed an AP story about the turmoil in F1 since the new company bought them.
Apparently the new ownership is still playing hard ball w/Ferrari and they're threatening to pull out and start their own series.
    Whatever.....

The quoted Toto Wolf from Merc saying they needed to take care of Ferrari.
Said F1 needs Ferrari way more than Ferrari needs them.

PS, hate the new halos on the cars.

Wow that was boring. I was amazed how fast the Hass cars were though.
The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering about those Hass "loose wheel nuts" though. Toto mentioned before the race that the Hass cars might do something to help Ferrari, hummm. Both cars same problem and on the same wheel, kinda fishy. Without the Hass car problems Hamilton would have won.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Hass fan but I never saw any sign of a loose wheel from the race coverage.

Daniel would most likely had a podium finish if not for the azzinine call of the stewards. I know it's the first race but Verstappen looked rusty.

Also the commentators were hard to follow and sounded amateurish to me and they need to up the volume of the commentators. I guess that is the style of commentating in England, different.

    EDIT: THE HALO'S SUCK!!!

I watched some it last night, and again this morning. Couldn't figure out that "thing" over the driver. Is that the "Halo"? WTF? How the hell can you drive looking at that center section? And they bitched about the 63 vette split window being a blind spot rear window? Oh well, at laest racing infull swing again, Supercross and "American Flat Tracker" on NBCSN. Loved my old flat tracking days! Anyway, halo..

Yep, that's the Halo. Suppose to stop stuff from hitting the drivers. Only way I see it helping is when two or more cars get in a wreck.

I would have liked to see a Funny Car style roll cage, the red bars, instead of the halo but no one asked me for some reason.
