    If it scuffed bad the plug should have aluminum on it

    If those gaskets were put on in the wrong order the impeller would have had to tear away that area of the gasket and pump it into the block. If this is the case, there are small holes in the exhaust plate & block that would not allow the gasket to pass. This is one of the main passages for the cooling system,& it will make the engine run hot very fast. You need to look at this if it is still running hot. This will cause your motor to fail. Next thing to look at is the rubber waterpump seals top & bottom To see if they are not pinched or cut from improper install. Just giving you some good advice & a place to start.

    easiest way to check coolant water flow, and engine temp. remove motor hood, run on launch ramp, in gear. to 1,500 to 2,000 rpm. check pee stream, for water flow. you should be able to touch engine block with bare hand. your first reaction will be it,s too hot to touch. but it,s not, if normal.if it is too hot to touch it is over heating. touch sides of block near heads. do not get near spark plug wires.
