Do the names Harold Clements, Mike Neeson or Dave Boyle ring bells?
Still on the hunt for the ownership of the schulze tunnel during a few years of missing history.
These names came up. Spelling may not be correct. Harold was supposedly from Boise Idaho. I expect all of them are from the western region? maybe racers, Maybe not?
Thanks

I knew Mike Neeson back in the early 70’s. At that time he ran a Milesmaster with a 1250 stacker.

Tom, I raced with a couple guys in region 16 (Colorado) . Vaughn Peters and Ward Coffman. They both ran Omc mod 100. Can't remember which one but one of them, I think Vaughn, ran a Schultze. Vaughn ran Havasu in 1980 and took 2nd in class. He owned a boat dealership that sold Lasers. Don't know if this helps but might be an avenue to persue

appreciate the info. identified a guy from Chicago who says he knows who the last owner of the boat was before Pete bought it. Trying to run that lead down.

Bob Nordskog, H.T. McCune and Mike Wallace raced Schulze boats too. The guys at Teague Marine might know some history as I believe all of those guys were from the west.

Making progress. Talked to Tim Helzer who knew Mike Neeson when he had the schulze for sale. He confirmed that Mike bought it from Harold out of Boise back in the Mid 1970's. Still trying to track down Mike.....

Hi Tom -
I saw your post here recently. David Boyle is my father. He actually passed away on December 21st of 2017. He indeed had a Shulze Tunnel that he and my uncle, Ron Boyle, raced for several years in the region and down at Havasu a couple times if memory serves. Boat was numbered 977. I am fuzzy on some of the details, but believe dad sold her to Butch Schmidt. I have photos and can research more with my uncle Ron if someone is looking for dates, etc. I would love to know where this boat is today. Regards - Troy Boyle

Shultz Whereabouts
Troy -
Butch Schmidt is still alive and lives somewhere near Steamboat Island WA area. Probably best to contact his son Jeff @ schmidt paving.com Butch suffers from Alzheimers and his memory is squirrelly. Can remember things from years ago but draws a blank on something that happened 5 minutes ago. Butch ran Mod UJ and Mod 100 with the Shultz but moved on to a Hering hull followed by couple of Seebolds, then retired from racing (Champ class). I don't know who ended up with the Shultz after Butch had it. Not sure if it even exists today?

So he was in a Molinari while with Bob's group? A big yellow one, if memory serves. I remember watching him race with Dad when I was about 10 or 11. You recall Dick Heinzelman? He was in on the scene a bit - moved away to Arizona last I heard. Must be in his 90s now. For some reason, I thought Dad said the Shultze was in a boat shop/museum in Wisconsin or somewhere in 2010s.

Schulz Whereabouts
Top of this thread - I think Tom Smyth has it?
The big yellow Glastron Molinari belonged to Dick Sharp. I eventually got that boat and ran it in Sport J until the class died. Your cousin got this boat from another racer. After that, it sat in his yard for several years before being picked up and trucked back to Michigan. Heinzelman was before my time.
