Go center steering! Faster, better balance, better handling! My centersteer 19’ Cougar after winning the Parker Enduro, 2012. 113 mph with stock 300xs.

My center steer 21’ Cougar ran 122.44 with a DBR 300x

Very nice looking 23MTR. I have seen that listed for sale a few times over the years. How long have you owned it? Give us more details on how it runs, some interior photos etc.
    Thanks for posting it

WOW! 122.44 mph is getting it done. Are you making any changes to go faster? Keep us posted.

I know there is 125 mph in this boat. My engine had crazy high (35 lbs) water pressure when I was at 122 mph.... I could go up another 1/8 - 1/4 inch.
My concern is getting too much air underneath this thing. The STV’s and the Mirages have a very small forward sponson openings compared to my 21’ Cougar. I haven’t heard of any other single engine Cougar or Similar hull getting the numbers I’ve already seen. So, I’m really in no rush to push this boat much further. I must say, my DBR 300X is a mean son of a bitch...the boat is balanced perfectly, it takes a set like a G6 jet, and that freaking 2 stroke monster behind me seems to NEVER STOP PULLING. Dave and Joe of DBR Racing, know how to make power.

If I were to run a 34 pitch blade, 125 mph is there... and I am 6’2” and 290lbs...I need to hire a jockey to run a REALLY big number in the Cougar. Lmao!

Here is one of only a very small number of 22MTRs that were I/Os. This one is powered by a 489 Stroker motor with 650hp. It is for sale and here is the link:

Originally from Edmonton AB, pretty sure just as many or more 22's were sterndrive. Bruce had the first outboard 22 built after a few sterndrive boats were built.

I never realized that there were that many 22MTRs built with I/Os, as most that I have come across were outboards.
    Thanks for the info
