i will contact Precision auto data research. i already left tony the message before you told me to call Precision auto data research. Tony just returned my call today so i thought i would let you know what he said. and you were right..exactly what you said... still no reply from aim.. i will contact dave tomorrow and see what he says.
my concern and question i have now is.. sure they can share information but is that information being shared accurate information.?. I will keep you posted..

Dave is neighbors with the guy that builds the acu boxes for Brucato. Which is the same guy who builds the new mercury 8m.fcr12 box and he built the 849 style as well. I told u in a earlier post Tony didn’t know about. I literally just went through this. I’ve been dealing with dave for a few years. You want find a more knowledgeable guy On. Aim Make sure u ask for Dave JR. Sir will answer the phone. And he’s a salesman

Just to update this thread on the topic. I just spoke with Dave Jr at Precision AutoResearch and he sent me the same cable that connects the AIM Evo4s to my brucato. Such a pleasure to deal with. We’ve now got a few other data log mods and tuning capabilities in the works. Highly recommend.

I realize that this thread is a couple of years old, but I’ve encountered a similar problem this weekend when I unpacked my AiM kit and realized that the plug on my Brucato ACU is completely different from the Merc ECU plug, so the serial cable that came with my AiM kit from PPE can’t work.
I’m trying to figure out what data the AiM gains from the ECU Anyhow, since everything, including the tach signal, uses the Merc main wire harness.
So, I’m wondering if I need this serial cable for the AiM Datalogger to work (I have a MXL-2 dash-logger) or if it will work without it?
I’m sure that there are quite a few people out there running an AiM with Brucato ACUs, but there is literally no info on the internet that I can find.
Below are a couple of photos of the ACU plug. One shows the comparison to the AiM Merc ECU serial cable square plug:
So, if there’s anyone out there running this setup, any info that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.Last edited by CI STV; 05-18-2021 at 10:56 AM.
