    Johnson GT 115

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I think $1225 is a lot of money for one of these. Don't get me wrong, I like these motors; my dad raced one back in the day; but for something that has no power trim, an unreliable ignition system, no replacement parts available, and far inferior performance to one of todays standard 115s, that is probably too much money. It is best as a garage queen once the new owner fixes the problems that I can see it has (minimum broken lower pan and power pack).
I know some guys are running KR15Ms on tunnels at some vintage meets, but I don't know of anyone running these, probably for the reasons I just stated.

I concur with you Vintage... I was also looking at it on Ebay but didn't pull the trigger on it at that kind of money for the exact reasons you stated. I used to race an Evinrude X115 on my Hustler tunnel back in the early 70's so there's a lot of memories....I sure loved that boat!!!

Hello Dan, Yes, my dad also raced one of your Hustler boats, Duane Timm's old boat. My name (and dad's) is Bill Richter.
I don't know if you remember me but I bought your dad's old 1:1 about 10 years ago. I work in Spring Grove about 5 minutes from your shop.
I'd like to stop by sometime and chew the fat about old race stories when you have time??

Too much when compared to and Merc or Chrysler stacker on static display, is missing parts and won't run?

Looks to me like everything is going to collectors, never to be seen again.

I too prefer the newer Stingers, CCCs etc but it's still history.

I guess as a collector, it's all subjective and up to your wallet.

ID:	461627I've always liked this design. Back in the day you were doing well if you had this motor and a jacket to match! Hard to find either one any more, so I modeled up and 3D printed a cowl emblem. Now I need someone to make the patch.Click image for larger version.

    Had a customer w/a ‘1967 Whaler I restored. Had a same yr V-4, I think 60 on it.

I looked at motor for him but only showed fire on two and for what he wanted, we punted.
Was tough to do though as motor was spotless.
I couldn’t tell it had ever been touched as most had not and ran forever.
