The engine room is pretty clean we have a great engine room crew and a chief engineer who loves his paint. The cargo holds and tunnels are another story!! after 40 years of hauling salt, they are in rough shape. We got word yesterday she wont be coming back out next year....all finished. Its sad, end of an era. Built in Collingwood with Canadian labour and Canadian steel, not many left like her. She is being replaced by a chienese built ship and designed to use half the crew. Seems the way of the world now a days.

We are still anchored near point peelie and looks like here until wednesday morning at least. Gotta love that november weather!

No kidding Collingwood Shipyards, right on. Sad she's near the end. Winds don't let up much this time of the year, wait it out ?

    Too bad.

We have a cabin cruiser on Erie and Pelee Island is our favorite island.
Their ferry to the Canadian mainland, the Jiimaan is also being replaced. It is owned/operated by the Canadian government and chose a builder in Chile.

Much to the anger of the locals, including a ship builder in the Leamington area.

Yeah, let's let our government run things.

Its a self unloading bulk carrier and we normally take salt from the goderich mine to various places this time of year. So far sandusky, lorain, cleavland, greenbay, milwaukee, chicago, perry sound and saginaw in the last 2 months or so. Getting all the stock piles ready for the wintery road conditions. We also take loads of stone and somtimes iron ore.

One of the mates told me just now we will be going to anchor once we get close to lorain for approx 24 hours due to high wind.

The temp in Goderich yesterday was about 3 or 4 degrees c. I would post some pics but our wifi is painfully slow.
I've seen your ship in the Saginaw river a few times.
